Prospective Members
Begin the membership application on The 501st Legion website. Be sure to have conducted a thorough read of our bylaws found in the Legion Charter and Operations Protocol. Then, fill out the form below to complete your application and submit your costume for review by an Ohio Garrison Membership Liaison (GML).
You will need to include pictures wearing the costume from the front, back, sides, as well as an action pose and a picture without a helmet if one is worn. Try your best to utilize neutral backgrounds and soft lighting. Examples will be included below. Your pictures will need to be shared from a photo or file sharing website such as Imgur or Google Drive.
The costume will be judged from the criteria pictured and listed within the Costume Reference Library (CRL). Please allow 2-4 weeks for your review to be completed by the GML, with this time frame being subject to change depending on the intricacy of the costume and present workload. Remember, we are all volunteers. Additional photos of costume components may be required.
New Costumes and Retired Members
This applies to those in Active or Retired Membership and wish to submit a new costume for official approval or return to active status. Similar to the steps above, fill out the form below to complete your application and submit your costume for review by an Ohio Garrison Membership Liaison (GML).

Incoming Transfer Members
If you have moved here to the great state of Ohio and are either an active or retired member of The 501st Legion looking to troop locally, then you will need to transfer your membership to the Ohio Garrison by contacting the Legion Captain of the Guard to complete that request. They can be contacted at cog@501st.com. If you are in retired membership status, you will still need to complete the form below to submit your costume for review. Be aware that costume standards do change over time and a costume approved in the past may no longer match the CRL, be sure to double-check!
